There is a famous saying, "Invest in your hair, it is the crown you never take off", and we couldn't agree more.  Besides carefully picking hair products which suit us, there are also vitamins we can now take to make our 'crowning glory' look flawless and healthy.  Those who aren't lucky enough to be born with it, can find other means to have healthy manes... just ask your favorite celebrities you see on television, films, the internet, and popular magazines.  They surely have the money to get the best hair treatments, hair color, and effective ways to prevent hair loss, but these celebrities usually have something we don't have... a team solely dedicated to make them look like a million bucks, from head to toe. Believe it or not, a lot of celebrities you admire for having great hair have a little secret – they wear wigs.  And we are not only referring to them wearing it onscreen for an acting part, but also stars who wear wigs in their everyday lives, especially when attending social and red carpet events. We have compiled a list of famous celebrities who wore their faux-hair with pride. Come take a look...

Chuck Norris

Martial arts expert and action star Chuck Norris wasn’t able to dodge the problem that a lot of men often encounter when approaching middle age – male pattern baldness.  Although it’s pretty obvious that Norris has been wearing a hair piece for many years now, the actor hasn’t admitted to it yet.  Perhaps because no one dared ask him?  It is quite understandable because he is already 78 years old, and thinning hair is a common problem in old age.  Another question that a lot of people have is whether Norris has also undergone cosmetic surgery.  For actors, there really is nothing wrong with taking steps to maintain their youthful looks, so we won’t be surprised if Norris will undergo a hair transplant in the near future.

Andre Agassi

Fans of tennis are very familiar with American tennis star Andre Agassi.  He used to be the world number one in tennis during the 1990s and early 2000s.  Although Agassi is now one of the most famous bald men around the globe, the tennis star used to have a head full of hair on court.  Or so we thought.  Aside from his bald head, one of the most memorable looks that Agassi had was his long mullet hair style during the French Open in 1990.  However, in a recent memoir, he finally revealed that what he had back then was actually a wig!  The tennis pro admitted to being so distracted with his wig falling off that he actually lost his match.  His ex-wife actress Brooke Shields suggested that he shave all his remaining hair off so he can concentrate on his matches instead of his head, he did and rest is history.  The tennis legend chose to remain bald instead of considering hair restoration or hair transplant.

Ben Affleck

When actor Ben Affleck started getting noticed in Hollywood, one of his identifying feature was his glorious head of hair.  At the age of 24, basically still a newbie in Hollywood, Affleck won an Oscar along with best friend Matt Damon, for writing the screenplay of the movie Good Will Hunting. Other notable movies Affleck has appeared in are Chasing Amy, The Sum of all Fears, Gone Girl, andArgo. Through the years, reports have speculated that his hair has been thinning, and he was great at hiding it with hair pieces. Then it seemed like Affleck's hairline changed overnight and his hair seemed thicker when he made the movie Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, appearing on red carpet premieres with his hair looking great than ever, and people could not help but assume he had some cosmetic procedure done. Some hair stylists say that it was simply just a well placed toupee.

 John Travolta

It seems like only yesterday when John Travolta rose to fame with the films Saturday Night Fever andGrease– films where he appeared with his gorgeous and thick black hair.  Aside from his acting prowess, singing and dancing skills, Travolta was prominent for having a head full of beautiful hair.  In fact, he could have been a celeb model for any top shampoo brand at that time.  However the actor suffered from thinning hair and receding hairline, and now at 64, his signature hair is only a thing of the past.  For many years now, the actor has been sporting wigs or hair pieces.  This is quite surprising, because today’s technology, along with the actor’s money, he can easily have a hair restoration treatment or a hair transplant procedure done.

Ariana Grande

Singing sensation Ariana Grande’s signature hairstyle has always been half-up, half-down.  Well, at least from the time her career as a pop superstar happened.  With a petite body type not matching her big hair, people often wonder if she’s wearing a wig or not.  The answer to that is a resounding ‘yes’ straight from the ‘God is a Woman’ singer herself.  Grande admitted to wearing extensions and weaves because of the sad fact that her hair has been badly damaged by repeated bleaching.  With the right treatment, though, the singer’s original brown hair color has been restored, and she wears it in a ponytail with extensions because she isn’t comfortable showing her natural curly hair yet.

Nicki Minaj

When rap artist Nicki Minaj entered the music scene, along with her original take on rap music came her colorful hair styles.  Instead of dyeing her hair to candy-colored hues, the musician opted to wear wigs.  Perhaps Nicki’s choice was made to prevent hair loss and other damages.  Lately, though, the star has wanted to have a more toned-down look, according to her hairstylist, hence, the less outrageous hair color nowadays. But Minaj still wears wigs, just not bright-colored ones like neon pink and green. Nonetheless, there are times the Super Bass singer has showcased her natural hair that she maintains with the right kind of shampoo and by taking hair vitamins.

Tyra Banks

Before she became a television producer, Tyra Banks was a supermodel who had created many firsts in the fashion industry.  She was the first African-American woman to appear on the covers of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and GQ magazine.  Banks was also a Victoria’s Secret angel, and at the height of her career, was one of the highest paid models in the world.  The America’s Top Model producer has always been honest that she wears wigs and weaves most of the time, so the public has no idea what Banks’ real hair color is.  She always carries off her wigs perfectly, so it’s really hard to notice that what Banks wears is not her real hair at all.

Elton John

Elton John is one of the living legendary musicians in the world.  His talent doesn't only include singing, but song writing as well.  John has written and performed some of the world's timeless hits like Tiny Dancer, Your Song, Candle in the Wind, and the much-loved music to Disney's The Lion King, and he's remained as one of the best-selling music artists in the world.  Yet, the legendary singer has one problem he cannot prevent, which is male pattern baldness.  In fact, John's hair loss started as early as in the 1970s, hence his affinity to wearing hair pieces or wigs.

Sean Connery

Many people think that actor Sean Connery has lost his hair because of old age, which is pretty normal.  Instead of getting hair restoration or hair transplant, the Hollywood icon has chosen to just let it go and comfortably lived with his thinning hair.  But not many know that male pattern baldness is a problem Connery has had for a very long time, even when he played the iconic character, James Bond.  Connery's hair started to thin when he was 21 years old, so when he first played James Bond in the film Dr. No, he was in his 30s already and had to wear a a hair piece.  Connery has always been comfortable with his balding head, well, who wouldn't be if you're as handsome as him, right?  However, for the series of films, he had to wear a wig because James Bond has a specific haircut required.

Gigi Hadid

Model and socialite Gigi Hadid's signature locks has always been her golden blonde beach waves.  In one interview, she mentioned that she's not allowed to mess with her hair, only to maintain and keep it healthy.  If you are wondering how she's able to do that, it's not vitamins or any special salon treatment, rather she uses coconut oil in it and not washing it for three days straight.  So to be able to experiment with different looks, the model uses wigs instead.  We have seen her wearing a pink wig, a short bob, and a pixie cut, with the latter shocking her fans when they thought she had her beautiful beach waves cut short.

Kylie Jenner

Reality TV and social media star Kylie Jenner is notorious for changing her hair color as fast as she changes her outfits. And the simple explanation for that is faux-hair – in fact, the young entrepreneur has a collection of them she was very much willing to share with her millions of fans. Besides rising to fame because of her appearance in the reality TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Jenner is also now well known for amassing a $900 million fortune at the young age of 20.  She was able to achieve success in business because of her company, Kylie Cosmetics, which started off just producing different colors of lip kits.  If she’s in the business of cosmetics, particularly lipsticks, it’s no surprise at all that Jenner is fond of changing her hair color every now and then to match the lip color of her choice.

Katy Perry

Singer Katy Perry Rose to fame with hit songs I Kissed a Girl, Hot n Cold, Firework, Teenage Dream, and California Girls.  With a net worth of $295 million, she’s one of the highest paid women in music.  The music superstar is not afraid to experiment with colors, not just on her clothes, but also on her hair.  Naturally, people assume she often wears wigs, because no one can change their hairstyles that fast.  Some of her famous wigs are her candy-colored wig, Jessica Rabbit-inspired red wig, and bright green wig among others.  She would also often wear short wigs and changed to a longer one later in the day.  With her fondness for wigs; hair loss and hair restoration are problems that the star is probably not familiar with.

Nicolas Cage

Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage's hair may be thinning and he may be in need of hair transplant, but he does wear wigs only in his movies and not in real life.  Cage finds it strange that reporters often asks him about wigs when he doesn't even wear one in his everyday life.  He does enjoy wearing wigs in films, and wore his much talked about hair pieces in movies such as Con Air, Ghost Rider, Season of the Witch, and The Sorcerer's Apprentice. To be fair, he does look much younger with a wig on than he does with it off.

Jason Alexander

Fans of the TV show Seinfeld are very familiar with Jason Alexander's bald head, or rather, his character - George Costanza's bald head.  However the baldness did not come with the show, hair loss is an issue that Alexander has dealt with even when he was younger.  So fans were much more acquainted with his bald avatar, and were not exactly very happy when they saw him wearing a wig.  The actor received strong reactions with his toupee wearing, but he has an understandable explanation for it. Besides appearing on films and TV, Alexander also does standup comedy shows, and one of his shows is entitled ‘Jason Alexander — An Evening With Jason Alexander and His Hair’.  He joked that because the 'hair' is on the title, he had to wear it while performing.

Sia

For most celebrities, they wear wigs to experiment with their looks.  For Sia, however, the reason behind her faux-hair is much deeper – to maintain her privacy.  The Australian singer-songwriter is known for her massive hits Chandelier and Cheap Thrills. Apart from her incredible voice, Sia is notable for not showing her face ever, with her wig designed to cover up her face.  The singer explained her choice, saying that she’s not covering her face with hair because she finds herself unattractive, rather she wanted to control her image and over exposure.  She did not want to put herself in a position where the public can scrutinize her looks whenever something changed drastically, such as her weight or complexion.  Basically Sia wants people to focus on her musical talent rather than her appearance.

Emilia Clarke

Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke is as famous for the platinum hair she wears in the series, where she plays the role of Daenerys Targaryen.  However, not all of the GoT fans are aware that instead of dyeing her hair platinum blonde for the series, the actress wears a wig.  In real life, Clarke is a brunette with a healthy mane which she maintains with an Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector treatment and only uses a special brand of shampoo.  Then again, the actress recently confessed to having damaged hair because she had her hair bleached to platinum blonde for the show’s final season.  It also did not do much for her private life, because she could not do everyday errands without being recognized, especially with her new hair color – so there was nothing left to do but switching back to being a brunette again, after filming ended.

Kim Kardashian

Just like sister Kylie Jenner, Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian loves to try out different hair colors.  Mind you, she isn’t afraid to dye her hair, but she sometimes wears wigs, too.  Take for example a platinum blonde wig with two long braids she wore, to test drive the color before she had her hair dyed.  She also wore a platinum blonde wig when she attended husband Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 show in 2016, and pastel-blue wig to test the waters before she decided to change her natural hair color to pastel-blue.  Despite the faux-hair wearing, Kardashian dyes her hair so much she must get an extra special treatment to prevent her hair from getting damaged.

Lady Gaga

Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, music superstar Lady Gaga has Italian roots.  Her natural hair color is dark brown, which is in full display in her movie A Star is Born, in which she starred opposite actor Bradley Cooper.  Yet Lady Gaga has always worn wigs, in fact most of the time people aren’t really aware of her natural hair color.  A musician who is known for over-the-top visual experimentation, Lady Gaga often wears wigs to match her outrageous outfits.  But with the release of her new movie with a critically-acclaimed performance from her, it is safe to assume that we might be seeing more of the singer’s natural hair color, which is almost always hidden.

Robert Pattinson

It has been said that the Twilight film franchise thrived because of a few things, the pairing of its lead actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner’s abs, and Robert Pattinson’s amazing hair.  Yes, Pattinson’s hair might just have had a fan club of its own.  Well, not many of you would be aware that when Pattinson had to reshoots some scenes in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, he had to wear a toupee.  The reason behind donning the fake hair piece was that the actor had shaved off his beautiful locks for another film.  And since some reshoots for Breaking Dawn was necessary, the actor had no choice but to wear a wig.

Zendaya

Actress Zendaya’s ticket to stardom was playing Rocky Blue in the Disney Channel’s TV sitcom, Shake It Up.  Because of this show, the singer-actress was able to transition into movies, and has since appeared in famous films like Spider-Man: Homecoming and The Greatest Showman.  And at the young age of 22, Zendaya has become an ace in nailing her many red carpet looks. She not only dons show stopping gowns, but the young actress prefers to pair them up with gorgeous wigs.  In fact, we may have never actually seen Zendaya’s real hair yet on the red carpet, because she almost always wears faux locks.  But we are not complaining, since the actress can have the title ‘Princess of Wigs’, with how well she carries them.

Vera Miles

89-year-old retired actress Vera Miles is one of the last remaining stars of Hollywood’s Golden Age era.  She has appeared in famous films like Molly and Lawless John, The Wrong Man, Tarzan's Hidden Jungle, and Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, where she played the iconic role of Lila Crane.  Psycho, of course, is considered as one of Hitchcock's best films ever, and is said to have given birth to the slasher film genre.  Some of fans of the movie Psycho may not be aware that Miles had to wear a wig to play Lila Crane, because she had shaved her head to film the war movie, Five Branded Women.  A brave move for the actress as women’s hair at that time was considered as a mark of beauty, with the era's ladies taking great care of their locks with shampoo and other hair care treatments.

 Jude Law

It’s really not surprising that Jude Law’s hair is a topic of discussion nowadays, especially when it’s almost gone.  The actor, who’s known for his appearances in famous films like The Talented Mr. Ripley, Gattaca, Sherlock Holmes and Cold Mountain among others, always sported his signature light brown heartthrob locks.  Yet many years before Law’s hairline receded, his recent movies always showed a glimpse of his former crowning glory.  So, kudos to Jude Law’s hairstylist for covering up with the right hairstyles.  The problem with the receding hairline is no matter how many hair vitamins you take, your hair will still thin out, and the only solutions are to wear wigs or undergo a hair transplant procedure, which we hear can get painful.

Javier Bardem

Javier Bardem is a Spanish actor who has invaded Hollywood with his award-worthy performances in movies.  And even though Bardem is generally a good looking man in real life, he is not afraid to look unattractive to play movie roles.  One of these roles, of course, is when he played sociopath Anton Chigurh with a horrible looking black wig in No Country for Old Men.  This role was one of scariest characters played on screen and won Bardem the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.  For his role as James Bond’s nemesis, psychotic cyber-terrorist Raoul Silva, in the movie Skyfall, the actor did not just use prosthetic teeth to alter his appearance, he also wore a blonde hair so that there’s no need for him to have his hair colored.  Bardem’s natural hair color is a luscious dark brown.

Rihanna

Just about a decade ago, a wig was not a fashion accessory common to famous celebrities. Today, however, many stars opt to wear wigs than cause permanent damage to their hair with perms, straightening treatments and various hair dyes.  No other celeb wears wigs more frequently than singer, actress, and now businesswoman, Rihanna.  She is known for hit songs like Umbrella, Take a Bow, Diamonds, Work, We Found Love, and money others.  Rihanna has become such an expert in wearing wigs that you would not even notice she's wearing one at all.  From pixie faux hair to a long and bright red wig, you name it and the singer has worn it with style.

Amber Rose

Model and television personality Amber Rose may awesomely rock her buzzcut hair, but lately she's been wearing long faux hair and looks almost unrecognizable.  Being a model was not the reason Rose shot to fame, but rather her appearance in many music videos such as Young Jeezy and Kanye West's Put On, Nicki Minaj's Massive Attack, Ludacris' What Them Girls Like, and Wiz Khalifa's No Sleep.  She also achieved popularity because she dated rapper Kanye West for two years, and had major rifts with the Kardashian-Jenner sisters.  It's been 15 years that Rose proudly wears a buzzcut, but her experiments with wigs didn't go all well, as she admits she's not a fan of them.  For her, wigs are uncomfortable but she chooses to wear them because she's currently letting her hair grow out. The model is probably taking special vitamins and undergoing treatments so that her natural hair will grow out more quickly.

Julianna Margulies

If there is one thing Julianna Margulies is known for aside from her amazing acting prowess, it's her naturally thick and curly hair.  Her hair was in full display in all the seasons she appeared on the award-winning television drama series, E.R. But Margulies loves her natural curly hair so much that she is thankful for wigs, especially the $10,000-priced one she wears in her TV show, The Good Wife.  The creators of the show wanted her character, Alicia Florrick, to have straight hair that's always coiffed.  Instead of going through the process of always having her hair straightened whenever she filmed the show, Margulies chose to wear a wig instead.  Too much ironing can cause damage and hair loss and some people eventually need treatment to recover.  Margulies points out some of the benefits of wearing a wig; continuity problems are avoided, and whenever flashbacks had to be filmed, the show's stylist only needed to have her wear the wig she wore that particular season they wanted to 'flashback' to.

Robin Tunney

For today's generation of TV viewers, Robin Tunney will always be the actress who played Teresa Lisbon in the television series The Mentalist, and Veronica Donovan in the series Prison Break.  However, Tunney was once an icon of 90s Hollywood, appearing in cult classics like Empire Records andThe Craft.  She also appeared in other famous films like End of Days, Vertical Limit, and Supernova.  And if you have seen The Craftand have always wondered, "What's up with Robin Tunney's hair?', well, her hair in the film was out-of-the-ordinary because she had to wear a wig.  People familiar with the actress know that her hair wasn't big and frizzy, as if it wasn't getting enough treatments and vitamins, as it appeared in The Craft.  Tunney had to shave off her hair in Empire Records, and she went from filming that toThe Craft, hence the need to wear a wig.

Ashley Benson

If you are a fan of Pretty Little Liars, you very well know that Ashley Benson's character Hannah Marin has a signature hair color, which is her ombré blonde hair.  However, Benson, being a young woman, who constantly wants to change her looks - even her natural hair color - constantly dyes her hair to different colors like platinum, dirty blonde, and dark brown.  Add that up to her hair dyeing for the show, and it caused her massive hair loss.  The actress once said in an interview that she's dyed her hair so much that her started to get bald spots.  While she deals with the issue of hair restoration, Benson had to wear a wig while filming Pretty Little Liars to maintain continuity in her character's look.

Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen was once Hollywood's heartthrob - even considered Hollywood royalty because he's the son of actor Martin Sheen and brother to actor Emilio Estevez.  Charlie's known for having good looks and a glorious head of hair when he was younger.  It is understandable that as he ages, he encounters the problem of hair loss because of male pattern baldness.  Unbeknownst to his many fans, the great head of hair they've been seeing on the actor recently is a fake hairpiece.  It would be unnoticeable to many because his hairpiece looks so much like his real hair.  Speculations have been put to rest when Sheen appeared with a buzzcut one day, then with much longer hair just a few days after.

Emma Stone

Emma Stone may only be 30 years old, but she has achieved a lot already in Hollywood.  She has starred in some of the most popular films of all time, like The Amazing Spiderman, Easy A, Zombieland, The Help, Crazy, Stupid, Love, and La La Land, for which she won an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress.  In the critically-acclaimed film The Help, the audience couldn't help but gawk at Stone's wigs, which has earned a spot in the 'most awkward on-screen wigs' list.  It is understandable that Stone was not to have beautiful hair in the film, as the real-life character she played, Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan, always had issues with her hair and wanted to have it as perfect as her mother's. However, critics took notice that the unattractive wigs Stone wore did not look natural at all.

Gene Simmons

The name Gene Simmons may not sound familiar to some, but for Kiss' fans, it's the stage name of the band's co-founder and singer/bassist.  One of the trademarks of Kiss is the members' 'devilish' makeup, specifically Simmons' 'The Demon' makeup and his large tongue that he often puts out on display whenever performing.  One other notable feature of Simmons is his high hairline and long frizzy hair.  According to some sources, Simmons suffered from hair loss many years ago and is now bald, and that what he usually wears while performing and during public appearances is a wig.  Lately, though, the rocker appears to have undergone a hair transplant procedure.

Maggie Smith

Maggie Smith is a multi-awarded English actress, who, even though, is now in her 80s, is very familiar to the younger generation because of the role of Professor Minerva McGonagall, which she played in the Harry Potter film franchise.  While she started acting in theater, Smith has achieved great success in appearing on television and in films.  Some of her famous movies include The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, California Suite, Tea with Mussolini, Gosford Park, and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.  But one of her most famous roles is perhaps in the TV series Downton Abbey, a part she won three Emmy Awards for.  In order to play Downton Abbey's Lady Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, Smith had to wear a wig.  During an interview, Smith said the wig she wore for the whole 5 seasons of the show was 'more tired' than her.

Claire Danes

Hollywood big wigs (no pun intended!) took notice of actress Claire Danes at a young age, when she appeared in the teen drama My So-Called Life in the 90s.  Especially when she won a Golden Globe and got her first Emmy nomination at the age of 15.  Her first movie was the film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's 1868 novel Little Women. But the first film she got a lead part in was Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet.  Not known to many is that when Danes played the iconic role of Juliet, she wore a wig all throughout the film. Everyone was quick to point out how realistic the wig looked, especially in the pool scene where Juliet's hair had to move in the water just like how real hair would move.

Jon Cryer

Just like his former Two-and-a-Half Men co-star Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer has been suffering from hair loss for many years now.  In fact, when you remove his fake hair or wig, you will see that the actor actually has a balding scalp. Male pattern baldness or androgenetic alopecia is not really uncommon in men, especially during middle age to senior care age.  The 53-year-old Cryer sometimes did try on wig a few times, but majority of the times it's all an optical illusion done by his hair stylist, by sprinkling a powder like substance that is the same color as the actor's real hair.  It is not known whether Cryer is open to a hair transplant in the near future to finally solve his hair problem.

Ashanti

It is now understandable why female celebrities often wear wigs nowadays.  They discovered a way to not make their hair suffer through constant dyeing or coloring in the name of vanity, which is by wearing wigs and extensions. One great fan of wigs is the singer and actress Ashanti.  She is the artist behind the hit song Foolish, and has collaborated with other famous music artists like Fat Joe (What's Luv?), Ja Rule (Always on Time), and Jennifer Lopez (Ain't It Funny - Murder Remix).  Ashanti's hair is definitely not in need of treatments because of hair loss caused by dyeing, since she prefers to wear wigs whenever she performs or goes out in public.  She reportedly prefers wearing front-lace wigs.

Anne Hathaway

Academy Award-winning Anne Hathaway may prefer to indulge in method acting once in a while and is always prepared to make her appearance suffer for the sake of her art, but there are times she does draw the line, like when wearing a wig instead of dyeing or cutting her hair.  She may have let the Les Miserables hair stylists cut her hair to play the role of Fantine (which won her an Oscar), but in movies like One Day, she opted to wear a pixie cut wig instead. Some of the other movies Hathaway has worn wigs for Alice in Wonderland, Brokeback Mountain, and The Intern.

Wendy Williams

Before Wendy Williams conquered TV, she was a radio DJ first who gained the nickname the 'shock jockette' because of her spats with famous celebrities who were guests on her radio show.  Her nationally syndicated talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, has been running since 2008.  Williams is notable for always wearing wigs on TV, and she swears her real hair doesn't deserve to be in-front of the camera at all.  The host's choice is not out of vanity at all, she is said to suffer from Graves' disease and hyperthyroidism, diseases that have thinning hair or massive hair loss as symptoms.  No matter how much medicines or vitamins Williams takes, her hair will never grow thick again, hence her collection of wigs for her TV show.

Dolly Parton

Country music legend Dolly Parton’s trademark is her big golden locks, but you’ll be surprised that what she’s been sporting for many years is not her natural hair, but a wig.  Nonetheless, Parton was born with a head full of bright blonde hair.  However, as she got older it changed its color to dishwater blonde, hence the singer’s ritual of dyeing her hair to make it go back to being bright blonde again.  Multiple dye jobs damaged Parton’s hair, resulting to hair loss and the need for treatment.  It was then that she realized that she could avoid the trouble of dyeing her hair and just put on a wig that’s always blonde and always styled the way she wants it.  The star has been using wigs since the 1970s and she has a collection of them with different big styles she likes.

Pat Sajak

With his many years on television, it’s not surprising that people grew to love Pat Sajak, with some fans even thinking of him as family. The Wheel of Fortune host is now 72 and some of the most common question fans ask is whether his hair is real or fake.  It’s not uncommon for older men to encounter male pattern baldness, and with a head full of healthy looking hair, people wonder whether Sajak’s is natural or fake.  In one episode of Wheel of Fortune, the famous TV personality finally revealed the truth, with the help of co-host Vanna White. White pulled off Sajak’s head to reveal a completely bald head.  Does that answer all the speculations about the host’s hair, you wonder? No, because that episode happened on April 1, and it was an April Fool’s Day prank.  In reality, Sajak does still possess a healthy head of hair despite his age, and he doesn’t need hair transplant any time soon.

Angelina Jolie

Not many know that Angelina Jolie's natural color is actually blonde.  Her mother, on the other hand, is dark haired, so she dyes her hair to match her mother's hair color, to pay homage to her.  However, Jolie is often required to sport a different colored hair in films, so she opts to wear wigs rather than change the current color of her locks. Some of the movies the actress wore wigs in are Life or Something Like It, Changeling, and Salt.  The star reportedly also wears wigs and hair extensions during red carpet events to make her hair appear full and luscious.

Tina Turner

If you think Tina Turner’s signature hairdo is her natural hair, well, we hate to disappoint you by telling that most, if not all, of the legendary singer’s hairstyles were achieved using wigs.  For those who are familiar with Turner’s career, you know how her ex-husband, Ike Turner, played a big role in the singer’s successful career in music.  According to some reports, Turner went to a salon to have her hair dyed, but the hair stylist used Pure Devil’s brand of Lye to her hair, damaging it and causing severe hair loss. Although Turner got treatment for the hair damage she suffered, it didn’t help her hair to grow back quickly.  So Ike had her wear wigs, and he arranged to order specially designed wigs for Tina, because he saw how great an impact her wig-wearing made to her career.

Rachel McAdams

The cultural phenomenon that is the movie Mean Girls has some interesting facts that will surprise fans, one of them being the character Regina George’s fake hair.  Regina George is the meanest of all mean girls in the film, and the character was perfectly played by actress Rachel McAdams.  The actress is a natural brunette, and she didn’t want to bleach her hair onscreen, which led to her wearing a blonde wig.  McAdams has always maintained her brunette hair for many years, which looks so healthy, perhaps due to regular treatments and vitamin supplements.  It is therefore understandable that she was not open to bleaching which could potentially damage her hair, when she can always wear a wig to achieve the same result a change in hair color can.

Gwen Stefani

Musician and TV personality Gwen Stefani rose to fame along with her band No Doubt, because of their unique sound and one other thing – Gwen’s colorful hair.  Although today the star is often seen wearing her now trademark blonde locks, Stefani honestly and proudly admits she always wears wigs.  Referring to her hair, Stefani said that everything’s fake, and that she hasn’t seen her true hair since the 9thgrade!  How can we possibly tell whenever she wears wigs as her hair always looks so perfect and natural?  For those wondering, the singer’s natural hair color is dark brown, and she maintains a luscious blonde hair because of regular dyeing, treatment and hair vitamins which come recommended by her hairstylist.

Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley is one of the best actresses of her generation, appearing in critically-acclaimed roles in films such as Pride and Prejudice, Atonement, and The Duchess.  The talented actress is also notable for wearing her hair in different lengths and styles, from pixie cuts to long locks.  She has no qualms about wearing her hair short, having a gorgeous face and bone structure.  It was a great surprise to fans that in 2016, Knightley admitted to wearing wigs for a period of about 5 years.  The reason behind her faux locks was a problem with hair loss, and she had to hide her thinning hair by wearing wigs.  According to Knightley, changing her hair color multiple times took a toll on her tresses and they started to fall off.

Sherri Shepherd

Some celebrities wear wigs but are not proud of them, perhaps because they do it in the name of vanity.  But not television personality and actress Sherri Shepherd.  Shepherd, who appeared in the TV sitcom Less than Perfect, Lifetime, Sherri, and is now a co-host of The View, is not afraid to let people know she wears wigs and loves wearing them.  According to the host, she wears wigs to keep her hair healthy and undamaged.  It's a known fact that ironing, blow drying, and using so many hair products can damage any healthy hair.  It doesn't matter whether you get treatments for your hair later, putting your hair through a lot of daily stress will destroy it. And that's what Shepherd wants to avoid, plus with wigs you can choose any type of hairstyle and can get it asap.

Gretchen Mol

Actress Gretchen Mol plays the character of Gillian Darmody in HBO's Boardwalk Empire so well you'd think they are one and the same. Other films Mol is known for are The Notorious Bettie Page, Rounders, The Thirteenth Floor, and 3:10 to Yuma.  In the 1920s Prohibition drama, Mol is a redhead, a stark contrast with her hair in real life, which is blonde.  And instead letting her hair suffer through constant dyeing whenever she filmed the series, she chose to wear a wig instead.  The actress is probably thinking about issues like hair loss and hair restoration while she contemplates having her hair dyed or not.

Keke Palmer

Keke Palmer's career in music may not have been successful, but she always has acting to fall back on.  She has appeared in films like Barbershop 2: Back in Business, Akeelah and the Bee, and Madea's Family Reunion.  Let's not forget her Nickelodeon sitcom True Jackson, VP, which earned her $20,000 for each episode, and made her one of the higest paid child stars on TV during the late 2000s.  Palmer is called a 'serial wig user' because she can rock several different wigs in a week.  What she loves most about wearing wigs instead of styling your hair, is that it's risk free, meaning you are not putting your hair out there to be damaged because of too many hair products.

Megan Boone

Actress Megan Boone appeared in the film My Bloody Valentine 3D, SATC 2, and Step Up Revolution, and the TV show Law & Order: LA, before landing the biggest break in her career, which is FBI agent Elizabeth Keen on the NBC Drama The Blacklist.  When she first appeared on the show, Boone had a pixie hair cut that looks so great, it must have been always maintained with various treatments.  But for her role to be effective, creators of the show preferred that she wore a chin length wig, which she graciously agreed to. For the show's second season, she grew out her hair, which looked more natural.

Billy Bob Thornton

Billy Bob Thornton is a great character actor, in fact he can be considered as one of the best actors of his generation.  He has appeared in films like Sling Blade, Primary Colors, Armageddon, and A Simple Plan among others.  In Hollywood, appearance plays a big role, and Thornton faced an issue with advanced male pattern baldness during his 40s, which made him look older than he actually was.  It's a good thing that there are plenty of hair transplant procedures now available.  The actor took advantage of the various options and went under the knife, which was a success in his case, making him appear younger than his actual age of 63.

Beyoncé Knowles

Surprising as it may seem, since one of her trademarks is her ever-gorgeous hair, Beyoncé wears wigs every now and then.  In fact, some people are calling her the ‘queen of wigs’ now, because she rocks her faux-hair so perfectly, you never notice it’s not her real hair at all.  Back in 2013, Queen Bey bravely had her hair cut short, which suited her beautiful face.  Just after she debuted her short hair, she was seen with longer locks in events she attended, music videos she made, and performances she appeared in.  So if you are one of those who dream of having Beyoncé’s hair, know that there is no magic shampoo or expensive vitamins, the right kind of wig will work wonders for you.
